SELECTING THE BEST GRINDING WHEEL FOR A JOB COMPELS A SHOP TO MATCH the characteristics of the wheel's basic components — its abrasive and its bonding system — with the requirements of the application. Bonded abrasives, such as those in grinding wheels, are made up of grains that are held together by a fixative material.
Sticks & Stones is the premier made in USA abrasive manufacture. We specialize in custom abrasive solutions for all applications. Established in 1973 we have the experience matched with the right abrasive to fit every application.

These machines accommodate whole grinding-wheel packs, and they service multiple grinders within the same shop. They also keep debris from truing and dressing outside of precision grinding machines.
Available in various grits and sizes, our dressing stones are perfect for shaping, truing and restoring worn out grinding wheels, diamond wheels, points and mounted stones.

Sep 20, 2017· I do know a rule of thumb with grinding wheels is a hard wheel for soft materials, and a soft wheel for hard materials. I've ground plenty of knives on a stone ...

I really applied a dressing stick with force as the grinding stone turned. It did help some. Then I thought to try it again, without water on the grind stone.
